Janmashtami também conhecido como Krishna Jayanti é a alegre celebração do nascimento do deus hindu Krishna. He is the most venerable Hindu god. Ele é o mais venerado deus hindu. The celebration is depend on the stars and may be celebrate on two different days. A festa é dependem as estrelas e pode celebrar em dois dias diferentes. Mainly Janmashtami falls in between the month of August and September. Principalmente Janmashtami quedas entre os meses de agosto e setembro. The birth of Sri Krishna was in the midnight therefore, the celebrations starts at midnight. O nascimento de Sri Krishna foi na meia-noite, portanto, as celebrações começam à meia-noite. Though the preparation starts from couple of days ago but the actual festivities begin during in this the midnight with chanting of mantras, hymns, and blowing conch taking place.
